History

Dirty Harry’s was founded in 1987 by John and Marlene Huberson. The restaurant began as a small shack on the beach selling hot dogs. The hot dogs were not nearly as big as they are now and only came with ketchup and mustard as toppings. Gradually, as the restaurant grew in popularity, John and Marlene began adding items to the menu and looking to expand. They bought the first brick and mortar building in 1995. A small location only a few miles from the beach where they started, it was an excellent location that allowed the restaurant to grow and flourish.

1999 was a major year for Durty Harry’s. This was the year that our signature secret sauce was created. To this day, the recipe is known to only a handful of people. The sauce caused a surge in popularity for the restaurant and has always been a wildly popular part of the menu. Our customers love adding it to all sorts of entrees, including burgers, hot dogs, and tacos. Customers also love dipping their french fries and onion rings in it. The sauce has become so popular, we’ve even begun mass producing it so customers can buy it in containers and take it home.

Since 1999, Dirty Harry’s has grown even more. We are now located in an even bigger restaurant building. On top of this, we’ve started a food truck that introduces people all over Miami to our delicious food. You can find the truck every Wednesday at the same beach we started at. We are also planning on introducing a number of different states throughout the country to our food when we do a cross country road trip next year.

We are beyond thankful for the growth and success we’ve had at Durty Harry’s. We love creating delicious recipes for our customers and can’t thank you enough for your love and support. Whether you’re a one time visitor on a vacation or a local who comes here every day, we appreciate you and hope to always provide you with an unforgettable dining experience. The main restaurant is located at the intersection of E Palm Ct and E 34th St in Hialeah, just north of downtown Miami. For people visiting the city, it’s a perfect place to stop by for a bite to eat after spending some time exploring downtown Miami. We have indoor seating accommodations for up to one hundred people, and we have outdoor seating for up to fifty people. There’s nothing like enjoying a delicious hot dog or burger while sitting outside on a cool Florida evening. Plus we host yearly and weekly events that allow us to better connect with our community!

Our food truck makes lots of stops throughout the city. We create a schedule every month that you can obtain by signing up for our newsletter. You can always find the truck at South Beach, the location of our very first hot dog stand back in 1987. Beach goers get to enjoy our delicious food right at the beach thanks to the food truck.

We also have built a second location in the Fort Myers, Florida. This is our newest restaurant, located right along the water with breathtaking views of the Caloosahatchee River and the Gulf of Mexico.
